A. The Fuelpak has a function which shuts off the fuel when decelerating. No fuel=no pop. Obviously the Fuelpak has to turn the fuel back on at some point or the engine would die. Not all popping can be eliminated, but this feature does lessen it. Mode 23 controls the rpm where the fuel is turned back on. Try lowering this by one number and see if it helps you. If you have done this and have gotten to 14 or your bike is stalling when coming to a stop, that is all you can do and you will not be able to lessen the popping without changing the pipes or installing quieter baffles. The popping is not harmful, just annoying.
A. EFI is very efficient and that makes it very difficult to read the plugs. They will not color the same way as with a carbureted engine does. If you are not having rideability issues it is unlikely you are running too lean.
A. Increase the value in mode 23 to 25 and try that. This will probably lead to some decel popping; it will be a trade off.
A. Always trust the internet settings. They are the most up-to-date. We do occasionally make adjustments to the maps and those adjustments are reflected in the map values on the internet.
A. We do not release what each of the modes control. If you think you have a rideability issue and want to adjust the map, call one of our techs and we can help you.
A. The easiest way to find a map is to go to the internet-based look-up page here.

A. Most likely you have an older version of the Fuelpak. You can view the version number of the internal software in mode 20. if you have a version 10 or 11, you can have it upgraded to version 12. See the version 12 upgrade question.
A. For $29.95 plus shipping, you can have your Fuelpak upgraded to the version 12 software. Typical turn around time is one day. If you want to upgrade your Fuelpak software, call us at (562) 921-0071 to get an RA number and shipping address.
A. The idle speed is controlled by the factory ECM. The Fuelpak can’t increase or decrease the idle speed.
A. Modes 21 and 22 are diagnostic modes. Mode 21 shows you the current throttle position. The value at mode 21 should read 0 with your hand off the throttle and immediately start scrolling up (1,2,3…) as you twist the throttle open and should climb all the way to 99 at wide open throttle. If it does not do this, go to mode 19 and roll the throttle all the way open then roll it all the way shut by hand, do not let it shut by itself. Go back to mode 21 and re-verify. Mode 22 shows the current engine rpm. Start the engine and go to mode 22. A warm engine will idle between 900-1200 rpm which should show up as a 9-12 in mode 22. the rpm reading should follow the engine rpm as it goes up and down.
A. The Fuelpak is warranted to be free of manufacturing defects for a period of 90 days after the initial purchase date. This warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the Fuelpak and is not extended to installation charges.
A. Some dealers will still honor the factory warranty after a Fuelpak installation, but some will not. It is up to your dealer. Often the dealer will honor the warranty if you pay them to do the Fuelpak installation.
A. The EX designation refers to our G models special to California. See the paragraph on G models.
A. The G model Fuelpaks (ie. 61001G) are specific to the state of California. They have special software which locks out fuel tuning in areas controlled by emissions testing. This limited tuning allows the Fuelpak to remain in compliance with Ca ARB regulations and is the only version legal in the state of California on public roads.
A. Adding a high flow air filter to your freer flowing exhaust will allow you to realize the full potential of your bike.
A. No, the Fuelpak is not compatible with the race tuner. Correct Fuelpak mapping assumes the Fuelpak knows what the factory computer is trying to do at all times and adjusts for lean or rich areas. The settings in the Race Tuner would be fully custom and the Fuelpak would not be able to know what areas are now too lean or too rich. If you already have the Race Tuner, you should take your bike back to the dealer for a re-mapping dyno session. A competent dyno operator should be able to dial in you Race Tuner for any changes you make.

A. If you see values listed in the additional modes then they need to be used. If you see N/A you will not program these modes.
A. If you’re Fuelpak only goes to mode 22 the you have an older software version. You can update your Fuelpak to the newest version for 29.95 + shipping.
A. This is not due to a lean condition or improper mapping. All air cooled V-Twin’s need air to cool the engine, if you are sitting still and no air is passing over the engine then the engine is not getting cooled.
A. Please click this link to view the most updated map settings.
A. the factory Harley has a very rich cold start cycle programmed into it to prevent engine damage while the engine is warming up, adding the Fuelpak can make this cold start cycle even richer. This should not last for more than a few minutes. If we leaned the Fuelpak map to accommodate for the cold start, the bike would run too lean at normal operating temperature.

A. Yes, we offer many maps for pipes other than V&H. Please view our map lookup for available map settings.
A. No, with your Fuelpak installed your ECM is still fully functional and it automatically compensates for altitude and weather.
A. No, the Fuelpak will not control/adjust idle speed, ignition timing, or rev limit.
